What are coins and how do they work?
Coins are the internal currency of Filmustage. The Director's Cut subscription includes 1,700 coins per billing cycle. As you stay subscribed longer, our Loyalty Program automatically increases your coin allocation - up to +100% bonus coins per cycle. Coins are used to run AI-powered features like Smart Breakdown, Scene Synopsis, Storyboards, Budgeting, and more. Each AI operation has a fixed coin cost visible inside the app. For example, 1,700 coins is enough to run a full AI breakdown of a typical 100-page script, plus AI budgeting and full script synopsis - all in one cycle.
What is AI Dude?
AI Dude is your built-in AI assistant. You chat with it in plain language and it does real production work across your project - smart breakdowns, building and reordering shooting schedules, VFX breakdowns, semantic script search, full-script synopses, and direct scene edits. Talking to AI Dude is included with your Director's Cut plan - you only spend coins when it performs actual work, and each operation has a fixed coin cost shown in the app.
What is the Loyalty Program?
The longer you stay subscribed, the more coins you earn. Every 3 consecutive months your bonus grows by +10%: after 3 months you get +10%, after 6 months +20%, after 9 months +30%, and so on - all the way up to +100% bonus coins at 30 months of continuous subscription.
Do unused coins roll over?
Yes! Unused coins roll over to the next billing cycle automatically and stay in your account as long as your subscription is active. They only expire if you cancel your subscription and don't resubscribe within 30 days.
What happens to coins when I cancel my subscription?
If you cancel your subscription, your remaining coins are frozen for 30 days. You can't spend them during this period, but if you resubscribe within 30 days, your coins are fully restored. After 30 days without resubscribing, unspent coins expire.
What happens to my projects if my subscription ends?
Nothing is ever deleted - your work is always safe. Your manual (non-AI) projects stay fully open on the Free plan, with all non-AI tools and exports. Projects built with a full AI breakdown are simply paused until you renew - everything stays saved, and full access comes right back the moment you resubscribe. The partial AI breakdown trial, the demo project, and any project shared with you by an active subscriber always stay open.
What can I do on the Free plan?
The Free plan gives you access to all non-AI tools: manual script breakdown, budget creation with templates, call sheets, storyboards & shot lists, scheduling with DOODs, location management, team collaboration, and exports to PDF, Excel, MMS, and MMB. You also get a partial AI breakdown (20% of scenes) to try out our AI capabilities. Your manual projects, the partial breakdown, and the demo project all stay fully open. A full AI breakdown project (every scene processed) needs an active Director's Cut subscription to open.
Can I try AI features before subscribing?
Yes. Every new account gets a partial AI breakdown on their first project - about 20% of scenes are processed with AI for free. You also have access to a demo project with full breakdown results so you can explore all features before committing.
Do I get any coins for free?
Yes! Every new user receives a 100-coin welcome bonus upon registration. You can also earn bonus coins through special events, promotions, and campaigns - even on the Free plan. Keep an eye on your email and in-app notifications for bonus opportunities.
What is included in the Director's Cut plan?
Everything in Free, plus full access to all AI-powered features: Smart Breakdown, Scene Synopsis, Scene Analysis, Storyboard generation, AI Budgeting, Full Script Synopsis, and the AI Dude assistant (smart scheduling, VFX breakdown, semantic search and chat-driven edits). You get 1,700 coins per cycle, growing automatically with the Loyalty Program - up to +100% bonus coins the longer you stay subscribed.
What's the benefit of annual billing?
Annual billing takes 30% to 40% off, and the discount grows with the plan - the bigger the tier, the more you save. Same plan, charged once a year. Your coins are credited for the full 12 months up front, and your Loyalty Program bonuses still apply and grow every 3 months.
What is the Enterprise plan?
Enterprise is designed for studios and large production companies that need custom pricing, dedicated support, tailored contracts, data backups, fine-tuned AI models, and advanced security features. Contact our sales team to discuss your needs.
Can I switch between plans or billing cycles?
Yes! You can upgrade, downgrade, or switch between monthly and annual billing at any time. When you upgrade, you only pay the prorated difference for the rest of your current cycle, and the extra coins are credited immediately. No double charges - you only pay the gap between your old and new plan.
Is my data secure?
Absolutely. Filmustage holds SOC 2 Type II certification and is a Trusted Partner Network (TPN) member with the TPN Blue Shield. Your scripts and production data are protected by industry-leading security standards.
